RETENTION: THE CHROs NEW AGENDA
The Conference Board’ s CHRO Confidence has reached a new high of 59 – the strongest reading since the series began in Q1 of 2023. This comes as 60 % of CHROs surveyed by The Conference Board report that they are planning to increase their companies’ hiring over the next six months, alongside rising confidence in employee engagement. However, retention is flagging behind hiring and engagement, with nearly half of CHROs surveyed expecting no change from Q4 2025. Diana Scott, US Human Capital Centre Leader of the Conference Board, recommends that to manage this imbalance, CHROs should take the opportunity to redesign the employee experience – by investing in leadership quality, skills development and more personalised employee engagement – to better sustain growth.
