THE BRIEFING
SHARING IN THE‘ AI OPPORTUNITY’
As part of efforts to support a strong, skilled worker pipeline, Microsoft has announced an expanded partnership with North America’ s Building Trades Unions( NABTU). The partnership is designed to make foundational AI skills more accessible and will provide millions of skilled craft professionals across North America with access to AI literacy courses and credentials. Through this collaboration, Microsoft says it is aiming to ensure“ that the people and communities building the AI economy share in its benefits.”“ The people building the physical infrastructure of the AI economy, like electricians, ironworkers and pipefitters, deserve a share in its opportunity,” said Brad Smith, Vice Chair and President of Microsoft.“ That’ s why we’ re expanding our work with NABTU, bringing free AI training to millions of skilled craft professionals across North America, while preserving the hands-on expertise that defines their craft.”
