BMW IX3 LEADS NEUE KLASSE ELECTRIC REVOLUTION
BMW Chairman Oliver Zipse describes the BMW iX3 Neue Klasse as a“ huge leap forward in terms of technologies, driving experience and design”.
When it was unveiled at IAA Mobility in Munich, the fully electric Sports Activity Vehicle was said by some observers to have“ skipped a complete vehicle generation” in terms of design and technology progression.
However, the vehicle’ s most impressive specifications concern efficiency and range.
The 800V battery enables rapid charging at 400 kW peak power, allowing drivers to add 240 miles of range in 10 minutes at rapid charging stations.
It has four high-performance computers, including the new BMW Panoramic iDrive system, which BMW says its four highperformance computer system elevates maintaining BMW’ s“ hands on the wheel, eyes on the road” philosophy.
The iX3 is manufactured at Plant Debrecen, Hungary, which operates without fossil fuels under normal conditions.
BMW has reduced CO₂e emissions in the supply chain by 35 % during product development.
Oliver says:“ Practically everything about it is new, yet it is also more BMW than ever. Our entire product range will benefit from the innovations of the Neue Klasse – regardless of the drive technology.”
The technologies pioneered in the Neue Klasse will be incorporated into 40 new models and updates by 2027.
