The tech firm routinely places people as its greatest asset and, rightly, wanted a headquarters that would provide them with the space, environment and health necessary to push the envelope in their work. Gensler took the brief and ran with it. The result is a building that throws traditional compartmentalised departments and meeting areas out of its triangular-shaped windows( a deliberate‘ easter egg’ nod to the triangle as the fundamental building block of 3D computer graphics) in favour of open floors, sky-high walkways and outdoor workspaces. It optimises acoustics and employee movements to provide calm and an environment for creativity. And, is surrounded by a four-acre‘ backyard’ shaded by solar-panel trellis and featuring‘ treehouses’ – elevated, informal meeting and lounge spaces that blur indoor and outdoor work modes.
