Karen explains that in this year’ s report, it’ s“ clear” that moving beyond job descriptions is a“ business necessity,” which actually looks like“ treating work design as an always-on discipline.”
Karen further explains that that means going“ all the way down” to the task level and asking what a role needs to produce, what humans should own and what AI should handle.
“ A good example from our research is 7-Eleven, which used AI automation as a moment to redesign its recruiter role rather than eliminate it,” Karen adds.“ AI handled routine hiring tasks, and recruiters shifted into more strategic work.
“ More broadly, our data shows that more than six in 10 organisations now deploy workers based on tasks, skills, and outcomes rather than static job models. The organisations pulling ahead are building flexibility into their talent systems to keep pace with work as it continues to evolve.
