Since taking the helm as Alphabet’ s Chief People Officer, Fiona Cicconi has led the company’ s employee experience strategy towards a culture of high-performance and innovation. During her five year tenure at the company, she has encouraged investments in employee learning and development through its education reimbursement programme, in which employees can choose a training programme they’ re interested in, and the company will pay for a portion of it. According to Fiona, this has previously included computer science degrees and MBAs to help employees upskill.

She has also led employees through significant change through the company including a largescale return to hybrid working and the introduction of a voluntary exit programme, which provides buyouts to staff taking career breaks.
